The FCC -and a class action lawsuit - are going after those hidden hotel "resort" fees
Submitted by Wanderlust AndiMany hotel companies are tacking on a "resort" fee that can run as high as $60/night, buried in fine print. Due to this, there is a class action lawsuit agains the Palazzo hotel in Las Vegas for these deceptive fees from a disgruntled customer who didn't find out about the fee until he was checking out of the hotel.
Palazzo is not the only hotel, though, with these deceptive fees. The FTC has warned 22 hotel companies that they may be breaking the law with these "resort" fees.
Hopefully, between the FCC and the class action lawsuit, we will be able to know what our hotel bill is - before checking out. Meanwhile, do your due diligence and find - and avoid - these hotel resort fees.

For example, the Palazzo in Las Vegas is being sued in a class action lawsuit for their "resort" fees that they tack on via "dip" pricing, where the price that you see advertised does not include the resort fee. And, you don't see this resort fee until you go through the check out process.
