A long time history teacher waxes poetic about Minneapolis and Minnesota, but why not? There is so much to love from the drive in and dives to the world class shopping and oh those lakes. The state says land of 10,000 lakes but there are actually more, and you will want to see as many as you can when you visit.
All the touristy things and all the educational opportunities and everything else about Minneapolis and Minnesota, in general, is wonderful to read about...but it is the people that make it special. As polite as the Canadians are, the folks in Minnesota will welcome you in with "Minnesota nice" and treat you like one of their own. Visit soon, come back often and fall in love with Minnesota and it's wonderful folks.
