Road trip budget tips
Submitted by Wanderlust Andi
Many people are opting for road trips as opposed to air travel these days. Although it may seem overwhelming at first, with a little planning and research ahead of time, it can be very affordable, convenient and fun!
Here are some helpful tips to help you have a budget-friendly road trip:
- Shop around for deals on hotels. Don't just snatch up the first one you find.
- Take the time to visit multiple websites to find the best rate.
- Don't forget to factor in pet rates if you are bringing along your furry friend. Most hotels charge extra for allowing pets to stay in the room with you.
- Make sure you have your car inspected and ready to go before you start your trip. The last thing you want is car trouble while your driving!
- Consider bringing friends on the road trip. It will be fun for all of you and bonus, you can all save money by splitting gas and hotel costs!
- Research free or inexpensive activities to do, such as local museums and historical spots. Not everything has to cost money to be fun!
Last of all, relax and enjoy yourself. This is your vacation after all, make it worthwhile!
