Some tips for a great family vacation

Are you thinking about a family vacation? Here are some tips for a great family vacation:

Plan well, or let others do it for you (such as an All-inclusive resort).
Take a Staycation, where you explore events and sites around a bigger city near you.
Travel with friends. This can greatly decrease the price (i.e. gas, sharing a vacation housing, etc.). Plus, the children can play together if they are the same age.
Keep an open mind. Not every detail will go the way you planned it, so embrace everything the vacation throws at you.
Have fun with your family - kids and adults alike!

And, one last tip if you are traveling by car: make the car trip part of the actual trip. My family often traveled 8 hours to go up to northern Minnesota. Even though the six of us were packed into a sedan, I valued the trip because my parents would stop often during the car trip for lunches and sightseeing. It was far better than the trips you hear about where the parents wouldn't even stop for a bathroom break.

Should you rent an electric car?

The idea of renting an electric car may sound like an excellent way of being a little kinder to the planet. This might be a viable option for business trips. But, vacations usually involve longer road trips, which may raise the risk of ending up on the side of the road. Electric cars are said to require charging before 100 miles of travel, and service stations equipped with the hardware necessary to charge the car are far too few.

Should the Waze app be allowed to have a police-tracking feature?

Waze is a traffic software that warns drivers about potholes, construction zones, congestion and unsafe weather conditions. A function on Waze that also warns drivers of nearby police officers has been stirring up controversy. Police fear this function could aid in attacks on them as well as assist criminals in committing crimes.

Think you have taken some crazy stuff from hotels? Almost everyone is guilty of taking something, from shampoo to soaps to linens. But there are things taken from hotels that will boggle your mind. Think pillows are bad? How about gutting the rooms plumbing? Yep, that has happened. In fact, hotel thefts go from the mundane to the bizarre. But, hotels are fighting back via sending invoices to sticky fingered guests to actually implanting RFID chips in linens.
