When would you like your hotel room cleaned?

In the past, housekeeping was done on a schedule unless you hung the sign on your door saying "Do Not Disturb". Now, in most cases, staff will do their best to give you the respect of peace and quiet, and only clean your room as needed - or if you hang your sign on the door that it needs to be done.
Personally, I don't want my room cleaned every day if it is an extended stay. I often work out of my room, and it is difficult to work while someone is cleaning. I am surprised that features like this are not automated. It would be great to go to the hotel's website and request a cleaning timeframe I would like. The hotel's automated cleaning schedule could easily incorporate these requests, then.

The guests will also be able to customize their stay by requesting certain amenities for their room. The day prior to check-in, the guest will log in with their mobile device and pick their room and added features. Guests will also be able to check in and out of the hotel remotely from their smart phone.

Business travelers in particular seem to lean toward rooms loaded with new technology, including super-charged remote controls and personal iPads that serve as a digital concierge for guests.

There was a poll done a couple years ago that concluded that if you don't tip, you are one of the 39% of travelers that don't tip. If you do tip, you belong to the 23% minority that always tips. I believe that most people just are not aware that they should tip housekeeping.
