Your worse nightmare: having your purse stolen while traveling
Submitted by Wanderlust AndiYikes - your worse nightmare while traveling as a female: having your purse stolen. Needless to say, this can ruin your whole trip, since your purse not only contains your money, but quite possibly, your phone, passport, credit cards - and other irreplaceable goods. There are steps you can take to prevent this, such as:
- keep your purse on you - strapped across your shoulder, with the purse in front of you. It only takes a second for someone to grab a purse that is under your arm or is sitting next to you.
- don't take any financial (and valuable non-financial) items with you if you are not going to need them. Take one or 2 credit cards - not all. And, keep cash, credit cards and other items that you don't need for day-tripping in the hotel safe
Also - if you do have your purse stolen, you can take steps such as:
- contacting your credit card companies ASAP to cancel the credit cards. They will usually rush new cards to you.
- changing all your passwords to reduce the chance of identify loss
- if you have an iPhone, going through the "Find my Phone" steps (you did turn the feature on, didn't you?)
So - may you have an enjoyable - and uneventful trip (purse-wise, that is).
