Escanaba, Michigan: Rosie's Diner
Submitted by Wanderlust AndiYou have got to go to Rosie's Diner if you are in Escanaba, Michigan. Rosie is back behind the counter, slinging hash and eggs and making friends of everybody and anybody who walks in. It truly is a restaurant where everybody knows your name.
If you sit at the counter, you will be able to catch up on any and all events of the day in the town, as this is a local favorite. And, you will be able to ask where you should go next and get plenty of good advice.
The food is fresh cooked by Rosie. You have a selection of all your typical breakfast items, plus sandwiches and salads. The breakfast I had was just what you would want - hash browns with just the right amount of browning and wonderfully spicy sausage. And, according to the people at the restaurant and the reviews I have read, it looks like the rest of the food is great too.
It is a step back into the 50's. You can even have a roast beef sandwich, complete with mashed potatoes and gravy. It is well worth it if you want the flavor of Escanaba.
But you need to get there by 3 pm or your will miss it, for Rosie closes the restaurant by then.
