Should you rent an electric car?

The idea of renting an electric car may sound like an excellent way of being a little kinder to the planet. This might be a viable option for business trips. But, vacations usually involve longer road trips, which may raise the risk of ending up on the side of the road. Electric cars are said to require charging before 100 miles of travel, and service stations equipped with the hardware necessary to charge the car are far too few.

A better bet for road trips would be a hybrid car, such as the Toyota Prius, where you can average 40-50 MPG.

Hopefully, cars with better and better mileage are in the near future!
