So, you must maximize the time you have. And, one way is to work in the local library, where you can observe the people, the books and, often times, a great view. Plus - libraries promise so much! There is a wealth of knowledge in a library, and it is a great place to research what you want to see with the plethora of local guide books they have - for free.  

Escanaba's Public Library is an excellent library, complete with a wall of windows that look out over Lake Michigan (although, unfortunately, partially hidden by a large pile of gravel). There are also many tables and chairs, wifi, and outlets. And, it is located in the downtown area, and just up from Ludington Park. So, when you are done working, you can easily catch a good bite to eat, do some shopping, or do some meandering at the park.

My favorite was the large jigsaw puzzle they had out. Some people would meander pass and try one or two pieces. Others would come in for hours. For me, it meant that when I got too stressed at the work puzzles I was trying to figure out, all I had to do is look up and get refreshed by seeing people actually enjoying puzzles.
